Car wash business?

Looking to open a car wash/detailing business, plus quick lube in NJ, have seen a few good locations, where do we go from here?

Appreciate all help..Car wash business?
I would contact local government in your area to see what the licensing and business requirements are. Second you will need to figure out how you will finance the operation...do you need a loan or will you provide all of the capital? Financing will probably be the most tricky part of your startup because banks generally do not like to finance start ups.

Check out www.sba.gov this site will give you plenty of advice on starting and running a successful business. Good luck!Car wash business?
Need a business plan and then contact your local bank for a loan or there are non-profit organizations out there that can help you with getting a loan.

But, you definitely need a business plan. That shows that you are serious.
Find out the rules, not only for the state, but also the town. Find out what zoning you would have to have. Do you need a license to operate? Get your sales tax certificate in place. Get your commercial insurance in place. Yes, you have to have it, sooner or later you will scratch or damage a car.

Price your equipment. Do you have to reclaim and recycle water per state law? Price the cost of that.

Going to have employees? Read up on those rules too, be prepared to pay social security and insurance on your employees, not to mention having to pay out unemployment when you have to fire someone.

In other words, do you homework first, then be prepared to not make a profit for a while. Most new businesses fail in the first 3 years.
