A friend of mine just started in the dog wash business, she bought into a franchise, which was fairly expensive to start with, but the franchise has paid for all the expensive stuff and she just has to rent it from them, such as the hydro tub, they did up the business cards and advertising. They outfitted a van she had paid for. She has to get 6 different types of shampoo and conditioner, towels, blowdryer, 7 different combs and grooming brushes, different size nail clippers, fur clippers and scissors (she just does a basic all over trim), an emergency first aid kit (must have, for dogs and her), muzzles and other restraints. So there is an awful lot of outlay to start with, it cost her about $20 grand AU, but that was buying into the established business.

Just look at prices for everything you will need like, shampoo, conditioner, spray (optional), tub (if you dont have one yet), towels (or cost to clean them).
